About This Tool
This tool uses FFmpeg.wasm with the asetrate + aresample + atempo filter chain to shift audio pitch while keeping the original playback speed unchanged. Each semitone corresponds to a frequency ratio of 21/12 ≈ 1.0595. All processing is done locally — your file is never uploaded.

Are my audio files uploaded to a server?
No. All pitch shifting is done using FFmpeg.wasm which runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device and are never transmitted to any server.
What range of pitch change is supported?
You can shift pitch from -12 to +12 semitones (one full octave down to one full octave up). Each semitone represents one step on the musical scale.
Does changing pitch affect playback speed?
No. The pitch shifter uses time-stretching to change pitch independently from tempo. Your audio will play back at the same speed regardless of how much the pitch is shifted.
