Frequently Asked Questions

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. PDF merging uses pdf-lib which runs entirely in your browser. Your documents are never transmitted to any server and remain completely private on your device.
Can I merge encrypted PDFs?
Yes. Encryption is handled during the merge process. If a PDF has owner-level restrictions, those are ignored so pages can be merged freely into a new document.
How many PDFs can I merge?
There is no hard limit on the number of PDFs you can merge. You can combine as many documents as you need, limited only by your available browser memory.
Will the merged PDF preserve bookmarks and hyperlinks?
Hyperlinks within pages are preserved in the merged PDF. Document-level bookmarks (outlines) from individual PDFs may not be carried over to the merged document, as each PDF has its own bookmark structure.
Can I reorder pages before merging?
Yes. Drag and drop the uploaded PDF files to reorder them before merging. The pages will appear in the merged PDF in the order shown in the file list.
What is the difference between merging and combining PDFs?
They mean the same thing — combining multiple PDF files into a single PDF document. The result is one file containing all pages from all input PDFs, in the order you specify.
